Barista / crew member — full-time or part-time ($12/hr + Tips)

Old Town Meridian | All-Hands Role
Primitive Grounds is looking for a friendly, reliable, and engaged Barista / Crew Member to join our small, supportive team in Old Town Meridian. This is an all-hands position — everyone works together across bar, register, cleaning, stocking, and creating a warm customer experience.

If you enjoy steady movement, meaningful work, and being part of a team that moves with purpose and rhythm, you’ll feel right at home here.

What You’ll Do

  • Make espresso and signature drinks (we will train you)

  • Provide warm, welcoming customer service

  • Support opening and closing of the trailer or seating area as assigned

  • Follow daily checklists and uphold cleanliness standards

  • Restock supplies, clean equipment, wash dishes, and handle BOH tasks

  • Stay engaged and proactive during slower periods

  • Work collaboratively with the team to keep service flowing smoothly

Who Thrives in This Role
You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Friendly, positive, and customer-focused

  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent

  • Someone who likes being busy and working with your hands

  • Comfortable learning new skills and taking direction

  • A team player who helps wherever needed

  • Motivated by doing things well and staying engaged

  • Comfortable with a small-team environment where everyone pitches in

Clear Expectations
At Primitive Grounds, you can expect:

  • Reliability matters.

  • We depend on each other. You must arrive on time for your shifts and communicate proactively if anything changes.

  • Phones stay away during shifts.

  • We stay present for customers and each other. Phone use is limited to breaks.

  • There is always meaningful work to do.

  • During slower moments, team members clean, organize, prep, restock, or wipe down the seating area. You should enjoy staying engaged.

  • Every role is hands-on.

  • No one works “just bar” or “just register.” Everyone helps with everything — including dishes, trash, and keeping the trailer spotless.

  • Schedules are collaborative.

  • Time-off requests must be made in advance and coordinated so that leadership isn’t left scrambling for coverage.

  • We value kindness, consistency, and teamwork above all.

  • Our customers love the warmth and care we bring — and we expect that same spirit within the team.

If these expectations feel aligned with how you like to work, you’ll thrive here.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Service industry experience preferred but not required — we will train

  • Idaho Food Handler Certificate (required before start date)

  • Ability to stand for full shifts and lift up to 30 lbs

  • Weekend availability

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to follow checklists and maintain cleanliness standards
