Barista / Assistant Manager — full time ($12/hr + Tips)

Old Town Meridian | Leadership Track
Primitive Grounds is looking for a warm, reliable, and service-driven Barista / Assistant Manager to join our small, close-knit team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves building community, supporting a team, and keeping a busy trailer running smoothly.
This position reports directly to the Primitive Grounds Senior Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Open and close both the coffee trailer and customer seating area with consistency and attention to detail

  • Support baristas during shifts and help set the tone for the day

  • Ensure daily checklists, cleaning tasks, and standards are completed

  • Train new hires and model excellent hospitality

  • Help monitor inventory and communicate needs for ordering

  • Coordinate scheduling needs with our scheduling support

  • Maintain a positive, accountable, warm team culture

  • Work all positions as needed — bar, register, BOH, cleaning, stocking

  • Communicate updates, issues, and needs to the Senior Manager proactively

Requirements

  • Service industry experience required (barista experience a plus, not required)

  • Idaho Food Handler Certificate (required before start date)

  • Food Protection Manager Certification — preferred upon hire; required within 30 days

  • Ability to stand for full shifts and lift up to 30 lbs

  • Weekend availability

  • Reliable transportation
